HOWEVER IT DOES CONNECT TO THE INTERNET SO YOU CAN UPDATE ANY OUT OF DATE INFORMATION WITHIN THE DATABASE. THE ONLY INFORMATION IT SENDS ME IS UPDATED INFORMATION YOU SEND FROM THE PARKING DATABASE THAT IS PART OF THIS SOFTWARE.

NOTHING IS AUTOMATICALLY SEND.

YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE TO SEND US UPDATED LOCATIONS, FOR INSTANCE IF A PLACE NAME IN THE DATABASE SHOWS UNKNOWN YOU CAN SEND THE PLACE NAME.

YOU MAY FIND THAT YOUR FIREWALL WILL ASK IF YOU WISH TO SEND INFORMATION FROM PSTOP.EXE PLEASE SAY YES, OTHERWISE YOUR FIREWALL WILL STOP YOU SENDING NEW OR UPDATED LOCATION. IF YOU KNOW OF GOOD PARKING LOCATIONS FOR MOTORHOMES IN YOUR LOCAL AREA PLEASE SEND THEM TO USE VIA THE SOFTWARE.

INSTALLING

WHEN INSTALLING IT WILL ASK YOU WHETHER YOU TRUST THE SOFTWARE. TO INSTALL YOU MUST SAY YES, THIS SOFTWARE DOES NOT HAVE ANY VIRUS OR SPYWARE.

Please help us update the locations within the database when your on-line

WHEN SENDING LOCATION INFORMATION BACK TO ME BECAUSE YOU WILL BE SENDING DATA FROM YOUR COMPUTER IT IS POSSIBLE THAT YOU WILL SET OFF THE ANTI-VIRUS OR FIREWALL SOFTWARE IF IT ASKS YOU WHETHER YOU TRUST THIS SOFTWARE PLEASE SAY YES. IF YOU SAY NO IT WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO SEND ANY LOCATION INFORMATION BACK THEREFORE THE DATABASE WILL NOT BE IMPROVED FROM YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF LOCATIONS NEAR YOU.

TO HELP ME IMPROVE THE PUBLIC DATABASE

Put in your home town or city and if a record - location is in or near your town or city and a field is displaying UNKNOWN please when your on-line update that location and send it to our public database so everyone can benefit from the update.

Apart from updating if there is a location unsuitable please let us know via the software.

The software gives paid and free day and night parking locations it also shows dealer locations. Beta version 2.0. now has well over 300 UK parking locations with pictures of each location built into the database so you can plan future travel stops and see what they look like while taking a tea break at a location with or without Internet capability. IF YOU STOP AT A SUGGESTED LOCATION PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO WRITE DOWN WHETHER THE PARKING IS FREE OR YOU HAVE TO PAY AND WHEN ONLINE UPDATE OUT DATABASE VIA THE SOFTWARE. IF YOU SEE UNKNOWN WITHIN A RECORD AND KNOW THE PLACE NAME, COUNTY, ADDRESS, PLEASE WHEN ONLINE UPDATE THAT RECORD i.e. LOCATION.

Main New Features with Beta 2.0

Connects to GPS locator like autorouters Pharos GPS-360

1) Built in GPS, with this feature you can connect your GPS device I use Pharos GPS-360 locator that comes with Autorouter however any GPS locator with (NMEA) that stands for National Marine Electronics Association who defined the standard that is used in most GPS locators will work with this software. All you need to do is put the GPS locators USB end into the computers USB port, (if using vista or xp make sure your connected to the internet when doing it for the first time because it will download the GPS port driver from Microsoft automatically. If the GPS locator is not plug and play very rare these days follow its instructions to load the device drivers. One this is done run pstop.exe the unzipped version of motorhomestop.exe you downloaded, then go to menu "GPS Comm Port" then pick a com port starting with Com 1. Each time in the same menu click "Test GPS etc" it will tell you if its found. Once found the "GPS Search" button becomes available click it once to start. Select the country your in say "England" then click on the "Country" Button. It will then display a list of all parking locations nearest to your current GPS location in nortical miles.

2) All of the above can be done without a GPS locator device. For instance if you have a satellite navigation device like Tom Tom you can physically type in the current manual GPS location from the device in degrees only, and this will give you the same list of nearest parking locations.

3) You can do all the normal searches like county or place name without using a GPS device at all but it will only give a list of places within a county or place itself and will not tell you how far you are away from them. However you only have to manually enter the latitude and longitude into your gps to navigate to that location or lookup the provided POI sets.

Public Records (Mdb) and Private (P)

1) A public record is a location in the main database that comes with the software currently there are over 300 parking locations available. You can edit and update these public locations ONLY OVER THE INTERNET by sending them to me via a form built into the software using internet explorer. For instance if the location is unavailable or no longer suitable you can suggest that it should be deleted. This location will then be deleted in the next release. You may suggest the location of say an UNKNOWN name place again this will be updated in future releases. Each suggestion is sent to me for evaluation, this should continue to improve the information in the main database.

2) A private record is a location that you decide to add to the database. This location is your own private location it stays with you. For instance the location maybe unsuitable for the average motorhome maybe its a hotel location. Private locations can be added, edited or deleted. Currently you cannot add pictures to private locations. (PUBLIC OR PRIVATE LOCATION ARE NEVER AUTOMATICALLY SENT YOU MUST DECIDE TO SEND THEM).

3) Making a private location a public location. When adding a record to the database it becomes a private location, if you think the location is suitable for a motorhome you can convert to a public location by sending it to me, however you can only do this when your on-line. So if your out in your motorhome and find a good place to park add it first to your private location list then when on-line send it to me.

Quick Graphical Planner

1) If your connected to a GPS device or have manually entered your current location you can use quick graphical planner, it shows your current location and allows you to view graphically where those locations are how far away they are nortically and whether they are in front of you behind you to the right or left of your current location. A nortical miles is a straight line from A to B unfortunately roads do not do this so expect in real terms for it to be a lot further.

Other Changes

1) There have been some behind the scenes work for instance error handling.

2) Interface changes etc.

3) Improved database quality, this is improved but needs further improving with your help..

4) POI place name reference code. Each GPS POI set will have a numeric code once entered into the database software will locate that location in the database. So any place names shown in your GPS device e.g Tom Tom will have a numeric code in front of it, by entering the code into the database software you will have an instant pictorial view of that location.

5) Picture Zoom - click on the biggest picture to launch picture zoom.

Feedback
